We sign open letter calling on US government to reverse decision to leave 66 international organisations

January 16, 2026

Withdrawal from major international bodies is yet another sign of the Trump regime’s authoritarian approach to international relations.

We are proud signatories of an open letter from Humanists International calling on the US government to reverse its decision to withdraw from 66 major international organisations.

The USA is openly embracing a “might is right” attitude to international relations> This is not only dangerous to international law, but also undermines the global status of the USA itself. It follows withdrawals, completed or underway, from UNESCO, the Paris Climate Accords, the World Health Organisation, and more.

Humanists and secularists across the world must stand up to the Trump administration and call out at every step its brazen attacks on international law and multilateralism.
