The new battle over religion in schools

In an article in today’s Sunday Herald, Bob Barfoot, education officer at the Humanist Society Scotland and a former headmaster, said: “It is a useful first step, but our view is that religious observance should have no part in the state curriculum. Religion is a private matter, best left to families”.
