Stornoway reports rise in Humanist ceremonies Humanist Society Scotland • December 2011 The Stornoway Gazette is reporting a rise in demand for humanist ceremonies. Celebrant John Howieson, from Portree, a former local head teacher said, “I’ve always been a humanist, and so when I took my early retirement, becoming a celebrant seemed to me to be a good way to continue serving those of them for whom it’s right.” You can read the full article in the Stornoway Gazette.
