Northern Ireland Assembly fails to pass Equal Marriage

It’s good news that the Northern Ireland Assembly has voted, in principle, in favour of equal marriage.

However, because of the power-sharing agreements in Northern Ireland this will not take effect, as the DUP have signalled their intention to veto marriage equality.
