Ian Scott elected as Chair of Humanist Society Scotland Humanist Society Scotland • May 2014 At the Board of Trustee meeting yesterday Ian Scott was elected as the new Chair of Humanist Society Scotland. He replaces Anders Ostberg who has stepped down (as he is planning to return to Sweden). Anders served on the Board of Trustees for a number of years including a spell as Vice-Chair. He helped the society through a number of organisational changes and leaves the Board with the society in a much stronger position. As Chair he oversaw the recruitment of our first Chief Executive, the development of our strategic plan and helped the Board of Trustees make the final transition to a Board that is focussed on governance and long term planning. Ian Scott was elected as a trustee of Humanist Society Scotland at the Annual General Meeting in April 2014 and brings with him a wealth of experience including roles as President of the Glasgow Skeptics, President of University of Edinburgh Humanist Society and Scottish Development Officer for National Federation of Atheist, Humanist and Secular Student Societies. The Board also re-elected Ben Mckendrick as Vice Chair and Lynne Ramsey as Treasurer. Share on: FacebookTwitterLinkedInPinterestEmail ×
