Human Rights Day Letter

Humanist Society Scotland, alongside over 140 other organisations, sent a joint letter to the Prime Minister to demand that our fundamental Human Rights in the UK will remain unchanged during and after Brexit.

Commenting on the letter, Gordon MacRae, Chief Executive of the Humanist Society Scotland said:

“As Humanists we have long defended fundamental Human Rights for all. It is vitally important that in the process of the UK leaving the EU, that we ensure a process of no detriment with regard to Human Rights. This means that people living across the UK should have the same rights during and after the EU withdrawal process as they did on the day of the EU referendum.”

The full text of the letter and who has signed it can be read below:

The letter, co-ordinated by the British Institute of Human Rights, was published in the Daily Telegraph and the Institute will share the response they receive from number 10 with signatories in the new year.
