HSS sponsors Ockham Award winners

Skeptics on the Fringe 2012, which was sponsored by the Edinburgh group of the HSS, won the Skeptic Magazine’s 2013 Ockham Award for Events and Campaigns. The photo shows Dawn Gyles of the HSS Edinburgh Group flanked by Jo Hockey and Keir Liddle of The Edinburgh Skeptics, evidently unconvinced of the very existence of the award.

Ben Makin of the Edinburgh Skeptics said, “These awards have
international reach; we were up against Robin Ince, the Winchester
Science Festival, the Houston Cancer Quack campaign, the Nightingale
Collaboration campaign and the Global Atheist Convetion 2012, so we are
honoured and proud to have won in the Awards’ second year. We just want
to say thank you – the sponsorship of the HSS made a real difference to
our work last year.”

Skeptics on the Fringe will return this August in Edinburgh from the 2nd until the 26th of August. Check out www.edinburghskeptics.co.uk for more updates and @edskeptics on twitter.
