Granny Green to play at HSS Gala Dinner

Glasgow-based folk fusion Band, Granny Green, have been announced as entertainment for the HSS Gala Dinner due to take place in Edinburgh later this month.

Based in Glasgow, Granny Green has recently emerged as one of the most exciting and diverse new ensembles in Scotland.

The trio of friends – Holly Boddice, Rachel Brown and Lizy Stirrat – met whilst studying at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Having all previously won solo and ensemble awards, they now complement each other in a mix of technical wizardry and, above all, musical talent.

HSS Registered Celebrant Jennifer Buchan first met the trio at a family funeral, and since then Holly and Rachel have asked Jennifer to conduct their wedding in December.

One of the trio, Holly Boddice, commented ahead of the announcement:

“We’re delighted to be playing at the Humanist Society Gala Dinner at the end of the month.

“Since meeting Jennifer we’ve been really struck by the warmth of the Humanist Society, and are very much looking forward to playing at the Gala Dinner.
