UK Premiere of African Witchfinder

Cloud Break Pictures, in conjunction with the Humanist Society Scotland and Alzheimer Scotland, are holding the UK premiere of the documentary short African Witchfinder on Tuesday 26th November, 7:30pm at the Scotsman Picturehouse in Edinburgh.

African Witchfinder was produced and directed by Cloud Break’s directors, Mally Graveson and Toby Trueman. It follows Namibian pastor Berrie Holtzhausen in his one-man campaign to educate the Namibian people about dementia and save innocent people with dementia from being drugged, chained and murdered as witches. On his way Berrie encounters a deadly combination of ancient culture, fear and superstition.

The film will be followed by a question and answer session facilitated by Fraser Sutherland, Chief Executive of the Humanist Society Scotland (HSS),  where the film’s directors, Mally Graveson and Toby Trueman,  Amy Dalrymple Head of Policy at Alzheimer Scotland, and Dr. Bob Scott, member of HSS and longtime campaigner against witchcraft in Malawi, will take questions from the audience about the film and the issues that it raises.

All proceeds will be shared between the Association for Secular Humanism Malawi and Alzheimer Scotland
