Fireworks

No matter how much some of us love them, fireworks cannot be considered eco-friendly. And not only do they cause animals to run and hide for safety, it can cause trauma for people suffering from conditions such as PTSD.

Releasing Balloons

It is impossible to control where balloons will eventually come down and, whether that’s on land or sea, they pose a number of potential hazards for animals, birds and sea life. Many balloons contain helium too, which is an increasingly scarce resource and has other more important uses.

Sky Lanterns

Like balloons, it is impossible to control where sky lanterns will eventually come down and so they pose a number of potential hazards for animals, birds and sea life. They can also be a fire risk. Why not opt for reusable LED fairy lights or beeswax candles instead, to create a lovely relaxing glow.

White Doves

If you are releasing these beautiful birds as part of a ceremony, we would advocate hiring a professional who releases trained, white homing pigeons instead, since these have more chance of survival.

Single-use Plastics

It goes without saying, but single-use plastics of any kind should also be avoided.
