Associate Members

Through our work with Funeral Directors we know that we share the same commitment to ensuring that bereaved families are looked after professionally and compassionately. We also know how important it is for Funeral Directors to receive a professional, reliable service from the Celebrants they book, which protects their reputation – that is important to us too. In recognition of our partnership with Funeral Directors, we are delighted to have Associate Membership. Associate Membership is all about recognising each other as trusted providers; there is no cost, but there are many benefits.

Here is a bit about our current Associate Members…..

We’re part of Scotmid Co-operative Society, founded in Edinburgh in 1859.  As a co-operative we focus on the needs of the people we serve, not the demands of shareholders. We’re proud to be at the heart of the communities we serve and are committed to being open, honest, ethical and professional at all times.Scotmid is owned by a membership of over 250,000 so becoming a member gives you the opportunity to truly be part of something bigger! Members have the opportunity to have a say in how Scotmid is run, ensuring Scotmid remains at the heart of Scottish communities.

We’re members of the National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD), the association represents the funeral profession at all levels of Government on legislative matters and campaigns on issues affecting not only funeral directors, but also bereaved families too. They provide informed opinion to Parliamentarians, Government agencies and consumer groups on all funeral matters.

We’re also members of The Funeral Planning Authority (FPA), an organisation set up by the industry to regulate providers in the UK pre-paid funeral plan industry. Our primary aim is to ensure providers that are registered with the FPA are operating in a manner that will result in customers getting the funeral they have paid for when it is needed.

We’re proud to be recommended by The Good Funeral Guide, who are wholly independent of the funeral industry, and is dedicated to supporting, empowering and representing the interests of dying and bereaved people living in the UK.

Dignity Funerals are pleased to be Associate Members of the Humanist Society Scotland and we look forward to working with them to better improve the service offering to our clients, while respecting the wishes of those of all faiths and none.
