#Women100 Wikithon

On International Women's Day & 100 years since the first votes for women, help us improve Wikipedia articles about notable women who have contributed to Scottish Politics and Humanist thought.

Wikipedia is the largest free open-source encyclopedia in the world and has over 30 million unique articles and  600 million unique UK pageviews every month.

However less than 18% of biographical articles are about women. Humanist Society Scotland is holding a workshop on international women's day which will give attendees an introduction to how to edit wikipedia articles and a team effort to improve and create new content.

Given it's the centenary of the 1918 Representation of the People Act, which introduced votes for some women, the focus will be on notable women who have contributed to politics, particularly in Scotland, but also those involved in Humanist thought.

Whether you have experience editing Wikipedia, just browse it, or have never used it before we look forward to having you involved.

The event is free to attend and refreshments will be provided, however attendees will need to have basic IT skills and provide their own laptop (wi-fi will be provided).

Attendees must register in advance due to room capacity. Please click the link below.
