Tree planting and picnic in Oban

Date: Thursday 22nd June   /   Time: 7:00pm - 8:30pm

Argyll Humanists will be planting a fruit tree to celebrate World Humanist Day, followed by a picnic. Anyone interested in humanism is very welcome to come along. Please bring your own picnic food!

This is an opportunity to meet and chat with fellow humanists based in Argyll, and to celebrate the humanist values of caring for the natural world and supporting people compassionately. Green Shoots is based in Glencruitten Walled Garden, 2 miles outside Oban.  If it rains, there is a teepee for shelter.

The produce of the garden, including fruit from the tree we plant, will be used in the Hope Kitchen which supports homeless people, those with alcohol and drug addictions, and people experiencing mental health issues.

The tree planting and picnic is organised by Argyll Humanists as part of a programme of events celebrating World Humanist Day, supported by Humanist Society Scotland.
