Humanist Society Scotland is an active member of Stop Climate Chaos Scotland (SCCS), Scotland’s climate coalition, bringing together over 70 civil society organisations campaigning together on climate change. As part of the coalition we are calling on the Scottish Government to redouble its efforts to deliver a world-leading, people-first, clean, healthy society and economy with a thriving natural environment.
Five of Scotland’s diverse campaigning coalitions are teaming up to host Scotland’s national climate and nature hustings ahead of the 2026 Scottish elections. Working together, Our Seas Coalition, Stop Climate Chaos Scotland, Scottish Environment LINK, Scottish Food Coalition, Scottish Rewilding Alliance, work to tackle some of the world’s most pressing concerns, from protecting nature on land and sea, enabling better access to healthy food, better public transport and lower energy bills, and protecting communities from climate impacts.
Polling recently conducted by Scottish Environment LINK shows that 7 out of 10 voters say that environmental and climate issues are important to them when deciding how to vote. The Scottish election in May 2026 is a pivotal moment for all political parties to set out detailed and costed policies to deliver the just transition we all need.
Scotland wants to elect political parties that are taking the nature and climate emergencies seriously. No more delays, no more excuses, no more grandstanding. This is your chance to tell leading representatives of the main political parties what matters to you.

The hustings takes place on Tuesday 24th February. The event will begin promptly at 7pm. *Please note the change in start time* at Augustine United Church, Edinburgh, and online.
Expect a panel discussion, Q&A, & audience participation.
