Guided walk and picnic in Edinburgh for World Humanist Day

Date: Sunday 23rd June   /   Time: 11:00am - 1:00pm

To celebrate World Humanist Day, Edinburgh Humanists are hosting a free guided walk around the Meadows, focusing on history of interest to humanists.  This will be followed by a celebratory picnic at the top of Bruntsfield Links (where public toilets are nearby). The guide has kindly agreed to stay on for the picnic.

All are welcome to join in the picnic.  The picnic starts at 1pm at the top of Bruntsfield Links and there is no need to sign up, but we will look out for you if you let us know you are coming. There will be light refreshments and the chance to raise a toast to the humanist movement. Please bring your own picnic and enjoy the conversation! Bring appropriate clothing in case of bad weather.

Details of an alternative, indoor venue will be put on Meetup if required. Please do check in the case of very bad weather.

To join the walk please sign up on Meetup as there is a limit of 25 places.

The starting point at 11 a.m. is the junction between Middle Meadow Walk and North Meadow Walk, a short distance from Bristow Square, (bus numbers 12, 23, 27, 35) The walk will last just under 2 hours and will finish at Bruntsfield Links with a picnic (please bring your own!).

You are responsible for your own safety at all times.  Every individual walker will need to prepare and take appropriate care.  Please wear sensible shoes and dress for the Scottish weather, thanks!  Don’t forget to bring a picnic!

This walk and social picnic is open to all Humanist Society Scotland members, supporters, and anyone who shares our vision and values. Please join us for both or either.
