Wedding & Civil Partnership, Naming & Welcoming and Funeral Ceremonies

About

I believe in the value, the dignity and the rights of every person in this beautiful, complex and fascinating world. I believe that Humanism with its compassionate, non-judgmental stance fits perfectly with who I am.
I’m particularly lucky to live in Drumnadrochit and to work across the Highlands of Scotland where the landscape provides a stunning backdrop to every day life. I have worked in social work and health for almost all of my working life and bring qualities of empathy, compassion and understanding to my work as a celebrant. As a daughter, wife, mother and friend, I have had much to celebrate in my life and much to feel proud of. I have also known heartache and have had to go through tough times, with the benefit of the support of those around me. I know how important it is to be loved and to love in return. All of my relationships and experiences have made me the unique person I am and they help me to see and to appreciate the uniqueness in others.

Wedding & Civil Partnership Ceremonies

A wedding or a civil partnership ceremony should be an occasion filled with joy and of course, love. Witnessing two people making statements of lifelong commitment is special for all who are present. Helping a couple to create a personal ceremony that best represents them and their relationship is a privilege and a pleasure. Our job is to make it unique and to ensure that together we build happy memories for years to come.

Naming & Welcoming Ceremonies

We have cause for celebration when a child comes into our lives, whether through birth, adoption or any other way that changes the lives of families. Naming ceremonies allow us to recognise these changes and to celebrate with our families and friends. Creating a ceremony together is great fun and sharing the special event with our nearest and dearest will give all of us, whether parents, children or celebrants, joyful memories to look back on in the years ahead.

Funeral Ceremonies

Death is as natural as life itself but it’s the part of life that brings us greatest pain and sadness. At this time, it’s a great privilege to be invited into someone’s home following the devastating loss of an important family member or friend. Together with the family and friends we can remember, explore and appreciate the nature of the life and character of the person who has died. In doing so we can then bring the person to life in words during a funeral ceremony of whatever kind. Celebrating that person’s life in this meaningful way can bring great comfort at the hardest of times. I’ve known that comfort in my own life and I’d love all individuals and families to know it for themselves.
