Wedding & Civil Partnership and Funeral Ceremonies

About

I was born in Southampton and moved to beautiful Montrose with my husband in the early 90s. Six years ago we bought a renovation project cottage with a large garden. This has absorbed most of our spare time and money since then, with quite a way to go yet! We have six children and thirteen grandchildren between us and an adorable rescue cat called Cassie. I've worked variously as a lecturer, open learning writer, project manager and commissioning manager. I have been a Registered Celebrant since 2014 and I feel incredibly privileged to be part of the most meaningful ceremonies in people's lives.

Wedding & Civil Partnership Ceremonies

Each Humanist Wedding Ceremony is as unique as each couple wishing to make this hugely significant and emotional commitment. A Humanist Wedding is like no other, because as long as we meet the requirements for a legal Wedding the content is entirely up to you.

When we discuss your Wedding I can give you samples of ceremonies, vows, symbolic gestures - such as ring exchange and hand fasting - poetry and prose to help you put your ceremony together. Equally, if you have very clear ideas of how you want your ceremony to be, I can absolutely help you to make that happen. There are many ways we can involve your friends and family in your ceremony, such as candle lighting, sand pouring and readings according to your choice.

Working in cooperation we will create a Wedding ceremony that reflects your individual characters and allows you to freely express yourselves. It will definitely be an amazing and unforgettable occasion!

Everyone who attends a Humanist Wedding says it was a happy and memorable experience. It will be my honour and privilege to to help you celebrate your special day.

Funeral Ceremonies

I think we have one life that we should live as fully as we can. I conduct funerals that celebrate a person's life and provide an opportunity for everyone connected with them to say goodbye in their own way. My role is to tell the personal stories you want recounted in the way you wish them to be told and make sure that the ceremony is everything you want it to be.
