Wedding & Civil Partnership, Naming & Welcoming and Funeral Ceremonies

About

I live in the Southside in what my family call "hing oot the windae for a free listen to concert" distance from Hampden Stadium, with a very serious short haired pointer called Ella.
I have been involved with HSS for some time through the T-Run project in Glasgow, and also in my former life as a Wedding Coordinator for several high profile Glasgow Venues.
I find it so rewarding helping families welcome their new additions, or say goodbye to a loved one, it's some of the most fulfilling work I have ever done,

Wedding & Civil Partnership Ceremonies

After many years spent as a Wedding Co-ordinator in some high profile venues in Glasgow, it felt completely natural that I move from planning the big day to helping a couple create their perfect ceremony.

The only advice I ever gave to my couples was to think first about what they want for their big day - there are so many preconceived notions about what you should do, that some couples forget about what they want to do. With so many choices available to couples, I want to work with you to ensure you get exactly the ceremony you want, the promises you will make, the vows you will take, they will be completely personal to you.

Some weddings are completely unique to the couple, some blend a mix of unique and traditional elements, but the one thing they all have in common is that they are created around what you want.

So, talking of completely unique weddings here is a wee snippet of three of mine, that couldnt have been more different, and yet more suited to each couple...

Being a Celebrant is some of the most rewarding work I have every done, It's a privilege to help people celebrate their love and to be part of a public acknowledgement. To hear the vows and promises that only your closest friends and family hear is a real honour. It is so exciting to see it all come together, into a day that you will never forget.

I am happy to travel all over Scotland.

Naming & Welcoming Ceremonies

The Humanist Naming ceremony is a wonderful way to welcome a new addition to your family. I will work with you to ensure that your ceremony is individually designed to reflect what matters most to your family and with this, we can be as creative as you would like.
Some like to involve friends, or members of the family and I am happy to suggest different ways you can do this. Please do not hesitate to contact me to discuss your ideas.

Funeral Ceremonies

I had worked with HSS Celebrants for years in my previous life as a Wedding Coordinator, but the thought of becoming a celebrant had never occurred to me until after I attended my first Humanist funeral.
In what was one of my darkest days, I was able to laugh freely, and reminisce fondly about a loved one, and it was the greatest gift I could have been given on that day.

I knew then, that being able to give that gift to others was something I wanted to do.
I find it an incredible privilege to sit with families as they talk about their loved ones, the things that made them laugh, the things that made them cry, the things that made them scream – it all goes to making up the life of a person, and I believe that life should be celebrated at its end.

I feel very honoured to help families pay tribute to their loved ones, to learn about them and their history so that I can deliver a heartfelt, and personal tribute to them. It’s a humbling experience to help families at their time of loss.
