We’re accredited! European Humanist Wedding Standard

May 21, 2026

We are delighted to share that Humanist Society Scotland is now accredited to the European Humanist Wedding Standard by the European Humanist Services Network (EHSN).

The accreditation board assessed our wedding services and we were officially accredited this month by the team. The standard sets out international best practice for humanist wedding ceremonies and means we meet a common European standard.

Humanist Society Scotland is proud to be the only humanist organisation in Scotland with this accreditation. We remain committed to continuing these recognised standards, ensuring couples receive the best quality service from us.

Thank you to our dedicated network of over 100 humanist celebrants who continue to deliver high quality, inclusive humanist ceremonies across Scotland.

We are also proud to be part of the humanist wedding portal. Here you can find information about accessing humanist ceremonies in countries across Europe.

As Scotland’s national humanist charity we continue to work in partnership with EHSN and as members of Humanists International creating personal, meaningful humanist ceremonies and working on humanist causes in Scotland, across Europe and worldwide.
